The motivation here is to show graphically what amino acids the reverse complements (as DNA) code for. This information also yields potential six-nucleotide restriction sites. Example: KasI (G'GCGCC) codes for Gly-Ala.

The asterisk denotes amino acids with four codons which have the same two starting nucleotides (which by definition use all the other nucleotides at position three).
